Moon River Brewing takes an active role in supporting the Savannah community.
2011- Sept. 1: We upgraded our burgers to grass-fed, organic, locally grown beef.
- Aug. 27: We donated $1 for every Moon River Brewing beer sold during the annual Bahama Bash to the Ossabaw Island Foundation. This nonprofit organization works with the state of Georgia to inspire, promote and manage the Ossabaw Island resources and activities.
- April 22: In honor of Earth Day we offered a special menu featuring locally produced meats and vegetables.
- March 10-12: As part of the Georgia Organics 14th Annual Conference & Expo, we offered some organic, locally grown menu items, including Hunter Cattle Co. grass-fed beef burgers and steaks.
- February: We donated a pint of beer to anyone who donated blood at the American Red Cross Savannah Blood.
- Jan. 16: We hosted a breakfast fundraiser to benefit the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club of Savannah.
2010
- Dec. 19: During the Moon River Brewing annual holiday party for Quality Assurance members, we collected new clothing, athletic equipment, or school and art supplies for the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club of Savannah.
- Nov. 26-27: We collected canned food for Second Harvest food bank.
- Oct. 16: We were a sponsor of the Ossabaw Island Foundation's Pig Roast and Art Auction fundraiser.
- Oct. 7: We hosted and sponsored Rivers Rock!, a fundraiser for the Ogeechee Riverkeeper and Altamaha Riverkeepers.
- May: We donated to the Tybee Island Marine Science Center to help install an 800-gallon tank to house a sea turtle.
- March 27: We participated in Earth Hour, turning off our lights for one hour while conducting business by candlelight.
- February: The city of Savannah started recycling Moon River Brewing's cardboard. In the past we had to pay to have it taken away or to haul it to the recycling center ourselves.
- January: We donated a pint of beer to anyone who donated blood at the American Red Cross Savannah Blood.
2009
- December: We hosted a fundraising competition between cat and dog lovers to benefit the Savannah-Chatham Humane Society.
- Oct. 8: We sponsored and hosted Rivers Rock!, a fundraiser by Ogeechee-Canoochee and Satilla Riverkeepers, These two groups are dedicated to protecting coastal river resources and ecosystems.
- Sept. 5: We sponsored of the Midnight Garden Ride, a noncompetitive, night-time charity bike ride through historic downtown Savannah. It benefited the Savannah Bicycle Campaign, a nonprofit volunteer advocacy organization working for better bicycling for Savannah and Chatham County.
- Aug. 1: We donated $1 to the Savannah-Chatham Humane Society for every beer sold.
- May 3: We participated in the Doggie Carnival, a fundraiser to benefit the Savannah-Chatham Humane Society.
2008
December: We hosted a fundraising competition between cat and dog lovers to benefit the Savannah-Chatham Humane Society. - Oct. 23: We hosted and sponsored Rivers Rock!, a fundraiser to benefit the Ogeechee-Canoochee, Satilla and Savannah Riverkeeper organizations.
- June: We upgraded our to Earth-friendly, corn plastic, to-go cups that are 100% compostable. We use 52,000+ cups each year. The new cups cost about 9¢ more each than regular plastic cups.
- June: We served Sweetwater Blue beer on tap in support of our fellow Georgia brewers and as part of a fundraiser by the Savannah River Keepers.
- May 4: We participated in the Doggie Carnival, a fundraiser to benefit Savannah-Chatham Humane Society.
